Brief Description:
VISHWAS (Visit Information of Schools Handled With Attendance System) is a unique project developed by Zilla Parishad Nagpur to improve the performance of on-field employees of education department of Zilla Parishad and collect the real time information on School activity through them. It is a mobile based target management and data verification system which monitors and verifies the targets assigned to on-field employees using GPS enabled Android phones. The key features of VISHWAS are –
• It replaced old tedious process of manual reporting and paper record maintenance system with a digital, cloud based system
• Targets are assigned to employees online and employees can see them right on their mobile phones
• It accurately verifies the target locations visited by employee with the help of GPS based mapping system
• The reports given by employees are saved on a cloud based database which can be accessed globally
• The difference between the allotted visit time and actual visit time can be monitored
• With the help of interactive graphs and reports the false reporting can be highlighted
• The system is extremely user friendly and employees can be trained within a short time span
• The project ultimately resulted in dramatically improving the performance of on-field employees and School Teachers & HMS of education department of Zilla Parishad Nagpur

Objective:
VISHWAS project was envisaged with multi faceted objectives to be achieved –
1. To ensure the timely and effective monitoring and auditing of schools by on-field employees.
2. To develop an online reporting system to provide regular and standardized reports and MIS to Senior Officials.
3. False reporting from the on-field Kendra Pramukh is a major concern for the BEOs. Thus, to develop a system that is integrated and proxy-free, simultaneously ensuring that visits are effective and all the necessary data is captured such as teachers or principal attendance, Student attendance, Mid Day meal Menu, Mid Day meal attendance etc.
4. A system to report any damages to the school building that require a repair.
5. An application to keep a track on the funding provided to the school along with the monthly expenses occurred in the school simultaneously reporting the Opening and closing balance.

Target Group: On-field employees of education department – Kendra Pramukhs (Cluster Heads).

Geographical Reach within India: Currently Implemented across all tehsils in Nagpur District. Future plans are to implement in neighbouring districts.

1. 158 show cause notices were issued by the education department on the basis of data and reports produced by vishwas system. Details of 1400 schools was sent on-line using vishwas application.
2.More than 1800 reports were produced on schools in 13 talukas. 1600 school toilets have been maintained clean as a result of VISHWAS.
3. 12 kendra pramukh were caught sending the incorrect information from the in correct locations. 38% students have improved the academic skills due to the regular teaching from subject teacher..

5. Meal attendance was verified by kendra pramukh in more than 1200 schools.

List 5 Key challenges faced while implementing the project/programme/initiative and how they were overcome:
1.Managing the application to run in the rural area without the network.
2.To convince kendra pramukh that this application is not an attack on their privacy but is use full for the schools visit.
3.To train users for the use of hi-tech mobile as well as vishwas application.
4.To answer questions from 136 kendra pramukh on mobile while they were using the application first time in their school visit.
5.To collect tour diary of Kendra Pramukh each month
